A new blogger’s inquiry into the question of quantity over quality…
This week I have posted on my blog almost every day. When I decided to start my blog, I posted on it once every few months. Then over the summer, I decided to make a goal of posting at least 2-3 times per week. But the more I started writing, the more I enjoyed it! I also feel more encouraged to write because I see more people visiting my page and reading my blogs each day.
Writing has become somewhat therapeutic for me. We are all living in a stressful time. Because of the pandemic, I haven’t seen anyone other than my family (thankful I got to even see them), since March. Writing and posting on my blog has been a way where I can share my thoughts and feelings on my life. It’s become an outlet that I didn’t realize I needed.
I also have thoughts about quantity over quality and vise versa. When I write, am I doing my best writing? I can definitely say that some of my posts are more serious and some are frivolous. I also spend different amounts of time writing too. For example, my post On Reading, I spent a lot of time thinking and reflecting. But this post, I’ve quickly written up my thoughts and now, I am eager to share them. While I don’t feel like the quality of my work is being sacrificed by the quantity of blog posts, it can happen.
So now I’ve been wondering, how often do you post on your blog? When you feel like it or do you have a set number of times you post per week? Is posting every week day too much? I feel like I have so many questions about blogging and creating my own website. I am so excited and eager to learn!
What are your thoughts on this?
I have posted almost every day for some years now. Adding extra content significantly increased my engagement, daily views, and follower numbers. I also enjoy it, as it is my main hobby.
Many thanks for following my blog.
Best wishes, Pete.
