On Beauty: An Updated Morning Skincare Routine

Skincare is something that no one should miss out on. Your skin is your largest organ! From protecting your organs to regulating your body temperature, your skin helps you so much. Skincare is something that is hard to learn about. A lot of people just think that you need to wash your face and put lotion on but that’s not it. There are so many more steps!

Here is a fun picture I found from Cosmo Magazine that lists out the steps of skincare in the morning and night.

Now, I am a skincare fanatic. I love it! This past year, I made it a goal to learn more about the products I was using and switch over to clean products. Clean products are products that don’t have parabens, chemicals, and sulfates AKA ingredients that harm your health. I wrote all about what I was using and what I switched over to here

After a few months of trying these products, I figured out the ones that worked for me and the ones that didn’t. I’ve switched over from some Tula products to try some new ones. Here is an updated list of my morning skincare routine.

Morning Skincare Routine

  1. Tula “The Cult Classic” Cleanser
  2. Thayers Witch Hazel Toner
  3. Summer Fridays CC Me Serum
  4. Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream or Tula Rose Glow and Get It Eye Balm
  5. Tula “Go Away” Acne Spot Treatment
  6. Supergoop Daily Moisturizer Superscreen
  7. Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm

Skincare can be daunting but making these changes now, can mean a lifetime of healthy and happy skin! In order to figure out which products are best for you, you first have to figure out what kind of skin you have. I have combo skin meaning that my skin is oily in the summer and dry in the winter. Because it’s summer, I don’t put face oil on. But in the winter, I do. After you figure out what kind of skin you have, then you have to find the products that work best for that skin type. Sephora has been amazing with this because you can filter products and read product reviews on their website. Sephora also shows you which products are clean and a list of ingredients.

I hope this blog post encourages you to think about what products you’re using and maybe try some new, clean products! Let me know if you do try any of them out!

I also plan on writing about my nighttime skincare routine so look out for that post!
